In 2019, Social Media plays a much bigger role in job search and employment applications than ever. Employers are looking up job applicants on social media as part of the filtering process and it has become a huge importance to have some sort of digital presence- regardless of what industry you’re looking at applying to.

We want to help give you the tips necessary in order to use social media to enhance your job search and application. Social Media, when used correctly can give your application leverage over others, and potentially help in securing a job.

Let your Social Media Presence Speak to your Personality in a Positive Light

Ask around and you’ll find that almost everyone is on social media. Be it Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, YouTube or LinkedIn, most people are on a social media platform. That being said, it’s important to choose what you share online wisely. As they say, what’s posted online, lives online.

Share aspects of your life that are important to you.

Perhaps you love photography, or hiking, or food, or fashion… wherever your interests lie, be sure to include those in your social media feeds. This helps employers get a holistic view of who you are as a person.

Use Social Media to Strengthen Your Resume
