An Academic Alert is filed when instructors suspect a case of plagiarism or cheating. At Alexander College, there are two types of Academic Alerts. A standard Academic Alert is filed in cases of intentional plagiarism or cheating. A Type II Academic Alert is filed in cases of unintentional plagiarism.
Instructors will notify students via email. Depending on the available evidence and other considerations, instructors may meet with the student before filing an academic alert.
