    The Registrar is a member of the College’s administration responsible for student records and primarily involved in the development and application of College policy and procedures in admissions, placement testing, financial aid, term scheduling, course registration and student records (e.g. privacy, storage, grades, records retention, etc.), as well as transfer credit, articulation, course and program development, graduation and conferral of degrees.

    Her work is primarily behind the scenes, serving on various administrative committees and providing direction to staff and faculty related to the aforementioned admin areas.

    As Associate Registrar, Carrie’s role is to support the Registrar with the day-to-day leadership of the department.
    In particular, she leads the creation of the term course schedule, course registration, and appeals, as well as handling system issues, bugs, and developments.

    Claudia is a member of our Student Records team, responsible for student file documents, information updates, document validation, etc.

    As Student Records Clerk, Claudia works with physical and digital student files and records, ensuring secure retention of records including admission documents, transcripts, test scores, and other confidential student documents. She also supports the Student Records team in the fulfilment of orders for an official transcript.

Enrollment & Academic Advising

The Enrollment & Academic Advising Division is the first point of contact for our new students. Our officers welcome and greet prospective students and help these students to find the right programs at Alexander College.We provide guidance and advice on the admission and registration processes to prospective students and preview and verify the application and documentation.

In addition, as academic advisors, we assist the students to create education plans and provide advice on course selection and information on university transfer requirements. We also help students calculate their program GPAs. Please feel free to contact our officers if you have any questions!

    As one of the Librarians at Alexander College, I am here to support students conducting research and find and evaluate books and other materials. I am happy to meet with students for one-on-one research appointments in-person or online.

    I am also available for faculty to request classroom workshops and to hear recommendations for new materials that could be added to the library collection. I am an avid video gamer, and I am happy to chat with students and faculty about their favourite video game.     Hi everyone! My name is Olga, and I am an Academic Integrity Officer. I am originally from Saint-Petersburg, Russia, and moved to Vancouver 4 years ago – from one very rainy city to another. My background is in Korean studies, as I completed both undergraduate and MA programs in the field.

    My main role in WLC is to process Academic Alerts, run citation and plagiarism-related workshops and help students learn and practice Academic Integrity. Matters of plagiarism can be complex, but I hope that with a helping hand and a bit of courage anyone can learn how to navigate one’s way on the road to Academic Integrity.

Health and Wellness Counseling

    Dr. Muge Celik Orucu holds a PhD in Counselling Psychology and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor. She has been working as a clinical counsellor for more than 20 years. Muge uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Motivational Interviewing techniques in her work.

    She has experience with Adult and Youth clients and believes in the healing aspects of collaboration and trust between clients. Seeking counselling is a courageous step towards personal growth; Muge engages collaboratively and empathically with clients to help bolster their self-awareness and work on making positive, goal-directed changes in their lives. Muge speaks and provides services in English and Turkish.

    Apekchha is a Registered Clinical Counsellor, with a Master of Counselling Psychology from Adler University, and BA in Psychology from UBC. Through her knowledge, education, and research, she combines concepts and techniques from multiple therapies such as Person-Centered, Emotion-Focused, CBT, Gestalt, Narrative, and more, to best fit the clients’ goals and learning styles.

    She likes to take a holistic, inclusive, and collaborative approach to counselling. It’s important for her to create a safe and comfortable environment for clients, while allowing for deep and meaningful conversations and reflections to occur in the therapy room. Apek speaks English and Nepali and understands Hindi.
