Enrolment and Academic Advisor (Hindi and Punjabi Language)

Position Overview

The role of the Enrolment and Academic Advisor (“Advisor”) will be to guide Alexander College Corp’s marketing efforts in the countries that are assigned. The Advisor will work with the Marketing (Enrolment and Academic Advising Services) team to enter new markets and maintain current markets for enrollment purposes. The Advisor will represent the College by conducting presentations, providing advice to prospective students and agency partners with respect to academic programs, admission procedures, and registration procedures, and imparting knowledge of the resources, facilities, and opportunities available to students at Alexander College.

Employment Type

Full Time, Permanent

Salary Range

$60,000-$72,000 (based on experience)

Work Week

The Employee will work during regular business hours, Monday to Friday, for 37.5 hours per week (not including a 30-minute unpaid meal break per day). Flexibility will be required.

  • College operating hours are 8:00 am to 9:00 pm and shifts will either be opening or closing
  • Saturday day shift may be required on occasion
  • Occasional overtime may be required

Location

The Burnaby and Vancouver Campus. Flexibility to travel between and work at both campuses may be required.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Minimum of 4 years work experience working in a similar role
  • Knowledge of the BC College and University system
  • International business or education experience

  • Ability to multitask and effectively handle multiple deadlines and projects
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office

General Duties & Responsibilities

  • Build strategic relationships with agencies, and other stakeholder groups both locally and overseas
  • Meet with and enrol students both virtually and in-person based on their educational specifications and requirements
  • Liaise with agents for enrolment and marketing purposes
  • Support the Marketing and Enrolment department in marketing activities and coordinate inbound marketing campaigns
  • Travel (2-6 weeks/per year) to various international destinations for student events, educational fairs and agency meetings for college purposes
  • Promote Alexander College’s educational programs through social media and other online applications
  • Complete lead follow-ups using different tools such as emailing, calling, texting and if required, meeting virtually or in-person at the campus
  • Assist the Marketing and Enrolment Department in conceiving, implementing, administering, and evaluating marketing plans for the College
  • Ensure CRM is up to date and lead follow-up steps are performed correctly
  • Participate and produce content for newsletter, email campaigns and social media
  • Complete lead follow-ups and tasks associated with the CRM system
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the VP of Operations and Managers

Academic Advising Duties & Responsibilities

Student-Facing Services
  • Provide accurate assistance, information, and advice to students on both a virtual and a drop-in basis during office hours
  • Conduct all meetings with students in a helpful, friendly, and professional manner
  • Assist students to create education plans that best suit their needs (ex. course selection) for both associate degree completion and/or university transfer
  • Assist students to calculate GPA (just for an assigned person)
  • Assist students with university applications when transferring to other institutions
  • Provide advice to students who are facing academic difficulty, and refer students to other departments as needed
Administrative Support
  • Promote Academic Advising services to students on a regular basis
  • Assist in maintaining the accuracy of publications, website, and other content
  • Attend professional development and training to maintain and update current knowledge of the program, admissions, and transfer requirements

Additional Job Information

  • International Business Trips: This position will occasionally travel internationally and will be responsible for providing any personal travel documents that they may require, including a passport.
  • Teamwork: Enrolment and Academic Advisor will work with the Marketing and Enrolment Team.
  • Enrolment Requirement: Enrolment and Academic Advisors may have an annual enrolment quota and/or target set out by the VP of Enrolment.
  • Administrative Duties: Invigilate course examinations while showing reasonable flexibility with respect to scheduling during each semester’s examination period and participate and support during orientation.
