Laboratory Technicians are responsible for preparing, setting up, and cleaning lab materials, including equipment and supplies. Laboratory Technicians also answer student questions in lab and field trip exercises. Thus, Laboratory technician duties include ordering, testing, and maintaining laboratory equipment; keeping up-to-date budget spreadsheets, inventory lists, and lab prep sheets; ensuring lab safety procedures are followed; answering student questions during labs; and accompanying students on field trips.

Full-time, Temporary for the remainder of the Fall 2024 Term, with the possibility of new contracts in subsequent terms.
Starting at $26.67 per hour
This position requires the employee to work about 30-40 hours per week, distributed as much as possible during regular business hours. Some overtime and evening work may be required to accommodate evening labs.
This position may require travel between Burnaby campus and Vancouver campus. This schedule may be adjusted at any time during the term of the contract as per the Unit’s needs.
