E-Business Faculty

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Alexander College invites applications from dynamic and well-qualified faculty members to support the development and delivery of courses within a proposed Bachelor of Business Administration in E-Business Management. This innovative program aims to equip students with practical and industry-aligned competencies in digital concepts and applications across multiple areas of practice, including e-commerce, e-marketing, internet law, data analytics, and AI applications.

STARTING SALARY RANGE:

$89,400 – $93,000

LOCATION:

Burnaby and Vancouver Campuses

SCHEDULE:

Classes will eventually be scheduled Monday through Saturday, with allowance for two consecutive days off per week.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • PhD in Business Administration or a Master’s degree in Commerce or Business Administration with a concentration in e-business.
  • Demonstrated excellence in post-secondary teaching and course development, with a proven ability to teach 300- and 400-level courses in areas such as E-Business, E-Commerce, Digital Marketing, Web Analytics, E-Marketing Strategy, Customer Relationship Management, and applications of AI in business.
  • Substantial industry experience in E-Business and/or Digital Marketing. Industry affiliations or membership in CMA, BCAMA, IABC/BC will be an asset.
  • Demonstrable scholarly activity related to applicable topics, including publications, conference presentations, etc., would also be an asset.

ADDITIONAL ATTRIBUTES AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of educational foundation principles including assessment, evaluation and teaching strategies is an asset.
  • Proficient with educational technology including databases and online learning environments.
  • Excellent instructional capability.
  • Able to maintain professionalism and cordiality when working with others.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office programs and applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, etc.)
  • Strong proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Working knowledge of Learning Management System.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Successful candidates will contribute to curriculum development, instructional delivery, program-related scholarly activity, and institutional service as we build a leading undergraduate program in digital and online business strategies.

Teaching Expectations:

  • Deliver specified course sections annually (lectures and labs).
  • Develop, revise, and maintain high-quality course content and assessments.
  • Employ inclusive and innovative pedagogy, including project-based learning, applied research, and experiential learning.
  • Provide academic advising and mentorship to students, including supervision of senior-year student capstone projects.

Annual course assignments may include (but are not limited to):

  • BUSI 300: Intro to E-Business
  • BUSI 301: E-Commerce
  • BUSI 305: Digital Marketing and AI
  • BUSI 400: E-Marketing Management and Strategy
  • BUSI 401: Customer Relationship Management
  • BUSI 410: Supply Chain Management
  • BUSI 450: Capstone

Research and Institutional Service Expectations:

  • Contribute to research and development projects that align with Program Learning Outcomes.
  • Serve on departmental and institutional committees (curriculum, program review, etc.).
  • Contribute to program regulatory and accreditation preparation.
  • Support community outreach activities.
  • Promote equity, diversity, and inclusion within the program and the broader college community.
  • Advocate for responsible and ethical use of AI in teaching, research, and design.
  • Other service duties as specified.
