Today we shine our Alumni Spotlight on Beku Ganbaatar! Originally from Mongolia, Beku enroled in the University Transfer Program before successfully transferring to the University of British Columbia (UBC) to major in business adminsitration. Now, Beku works as an Education Counselor and Finance Officer at Alexander Academy, Alexander College’s sister school for grades 10-12.
One of the main reasons Beku chose Alexander College was because of the clear university transfer pathways the college provided. Alexander College is a member of the British Columbia Coucil on Admissions and Transfer (BCCAT), which means students can easily see how their course credits will transfer to top universities across British Columbia such as UBC, SFU, UVic, and more.
Beku is also grateful for the student support services that made her transfer journey to UBC a smooth one. Academic Advising in particular helped her make sure she met all the requirements before applying for university transfer as a third-year student.
“Alexander College prepared me well for UBC with its small sized classes, personalized support, and academic resources.”
Beku’s advice for new students is to take advantage of the small class sizes at Alexander College to connect with instructors and get personalized support. She also recommends getting involved in campus activities to network and really make the most of their experience.

We are grateful to have the opportunity to work in this territory.
