Thinking about getting admitted to the University of British Columbia (UBC), one of Canada’s leading institutions? You’re in the right place!
This blog is especially for students who may not currently meet UBC’s direct entry requirements—whether you’re graduating from Grade 12 with non-competitive grades, missing specific prerequisite courses, missing English proficiency, or are a mature student over 19 who hasn’t completed high school.
We’ll walk you through how the University Transfer Program can be your pathway to UBC.
Over the past five years, nearly 30% of all students, and 40% of international students, pursuing a bachelors in British Columbia have gained admission to Canadian universities through a transfer program.
Many of our students have successfully transferred or plan to transfer to UBC. You can learn about their academic journeys by watching the videos below.
Transferring to university through a university transfer program may sound complex and unachievable, but I assure you it’s not!
There are only two key things to keep in mind: the BC Transfer Guide system, and the fact that most universities in BC including UBC accept at least 24 transferable credits from other recognized institutions for most of their bachelor’s programs.
Let’s look at an example: transferring into UBC’s Bachelor of Arts: Psychology.
