Student Support Services Front Desk Receptionist

Position Overview

The Front-Desk / Reception Student Worker works in conjunction with Student Life and the Staff from Student Support Services to make sure the needs of the student body are met, by overseeing and operating the front- desk accordingly. This position will give official support for the general, regular administrative, utilitarian, and managerial tasks.

Temporary, part-time for the Winter Term

Work Week

The Employee is expected to work during regular business hours. Occasional overtime may be required as well.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Enrolled at Alexander College
  • Must be a full-time student at Alexander College (taking a minimum of 3 courses)
  • Must have a minimum GPA of 2.67
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of intensely related involvement with a regulatory or client assistance capability
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs

  • Frameworks and Software – have adequate skills in the use of Microsoft Word and other related Software.
  • Group Orientation and Interpersonal – highly energetic team player with the ability to develop and maintain community associations at all levels within and outside of the association.
  • Organized – possess strong organizational skills to manage tasks efficiently and ensure smooth workflow.
  • Must be on time and professionally presented.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Provide a professional, supportive, welcoming environment and an uplifting attitude for the workforce, staff, students, families, visitors, and the Student Life department.
  • Maintain the coursebook program for new students without a financial aid guide.
  • Receive and process department paperwork.
  • Assist with projects as required (e.g., plan materials for distribution, create spreadsheets, event set-up, etc.).
  • Assist with the orientation and induction of meetings for new students where appropriate.
  • Maintain office paperwork, demonstrating the ability to work under pressure.
  • Carry out tasks across campus to deliver documents and materials.
  • Provide good support through informed and proficient engagement.
  • Perform various duties as delegated.
