Did you know Alexander College offers RISIA services? Regulated International Students Immigrations Advisors, or RISIA for short, help students with a variety of topics related to immigration.
Alexander College has four RISIA on the team and each of them is fluent in multiple languages so students can get help in a language they are more comfortable speaking in.
The RISIA team’s main goal is to ensure students are complying with their study permit conditions but they also provide other supporting services such as:
One of the most important things as an international student is to make sure you are following the conditions for your study permit. After all, you don’t want to run into any legal troubles during your stay in Canada.
Your study permit lists all the conditions you have to follow so by bringing your study permit to appointments, your advisor can read and explain every aspect of your study permit.
Immigration can be a complex subject so RISIA Sunny Dhanjal recommends talking to a RISIA instead of asking friends for advice when it comes to study permits as everyone’s situation is different.
Study permits are not a one-size-fits-all situation so advice that works for others may not be the best for you!
