LockDown Browser is an app that works with a learning management system to prevent the user from using other programs or viewing unapproved materials during an assessment. It is intended to make online exams fairer.
Online classes at Alexander College may have online exams and quizzes. Students use LockDown Browser to take online exams or quizzes in a more secure environment.
To use LockDown Browser, you must install the app on a laptop or desktop computer. The computer must have Windows 10/11 or macOS installed.

You can use the LockDown Browser Help course on Canvas. Go to Canvas and ‘Student Support’ to locate it. Alternatively, ask your instructor if they have a test quiz you can use.

Yes, you can use any laptop with LockDown Browser. However, make sure you follow all of the exam rules. Also, be careful not to allow another person to access your MyAC or Canvas account if you use their laptop.
