Volunteering with ACSA and Student Life

Volunteering is a great way to give back to your community, develop new skills, and make a positive impact on campus life at Alexander College. Through the Alexander College Student Association (ACSA), students have the opportunity to volunteer for a variety of events and initiatives, including:

  • New Student Orientation: Help new students feel welcome and get settled into college life.
  • ACSA Events: Assist in organizing and running social, cultural, and educational events for students.
  • Community Cleanups and Giving: Participate in efforts to improve the local community, from community cleanups to charity drives and environmental initiatives.

Volunteering not only supports the college and local community, but it also allows you to develop teamwork, leadership, and event management skills.

Volunteering Guidelines

We want to ensure that all volunteers have a positive and rewarding experience. Please review the following guidelines before signing up:

  • Respect and Professionalism: As a volunteer, you are expected to treat all students, staff, and fellow volunteers with respect and professionalism. Disrespectful or inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in your removal from the volunteer program.
  • Commitment: By signing up to volunteer, you agree to show up for your assigned tasks and complete your duties to the best of your ability. Volunteering is a responsibility, and your participation is essential for the success of the events.
  • Behavioural Conduct: Volunteers must maintain good standing at the college. Any incidents of behavioural misconduct, including but not limited to academic dishonesty or violations of the student code of conduct, may result in disqualification from the volunteer program.
  • Attendance: If you are unable to fulfill your volunteer commitment, please notify the Student Life Unit and ACSA as soon as possible. Failure to show up without prior notice or consistent non-fulfillment of tasks may result in removal from the program, and we may not be able to offer you future volunteer opportunities.
  • Future Opportunities: While volunteering is an excellent opportunity, continued participation is contingent upon your adherence to these guidelines and your performance. We reserve the right not to call you for future volunteering roles if expectations are not met.
