Did you know we have a handy Student Handbook available for all students?
Whether you are a student experiencing your first semester at Alexander College or you are a newly-accepted student looking forward to experiencing life in Canada and the College, our Student Handbook includes useful information that will help you on your academic journey.
Even if you are a returning student, the Student Handbook is a great refresher for all the Student Support Services available to you as well as reminders on some of our college policies and facilities.
This blog will go over some of the things you can find in our Student Handbook.
Unsure how long the school term is? Confused on where to obtain your student ID? The Important Resources section of the Student Handbook contains links and mini guides on services and pages that are essential to every student at Alexander College.
For example, this section includes what you need to know about myAC and Canvas, two platforms that are vital for every student. These let students view and submit assignments, take online exams, view your grades, sign up for classes, and more.
Alexander College is dedicated to providing a supportive learning environment which is why the College offers a comprehensive suite of services designed to support students on their academic journey.
The Student Handbook provides a handy graphic showcasing all of the services available to students that is also available on our website.
For example, did you know we have one on one tutoring at the Writing and Learning Centre (WLC)? You can also speak to an Academic Advisor as part of our Academic Advising services if you have any questions regarding your degree or courses.
If you are feeling overwhelmed, each student is eligible for ten free confidential counseling sessions with our Health and Wellness Counselors per year.
Aside from campus life and academic information, the Student Handbook also includes a section on how to adjust to life in Canada. Living in a new country can be a daunting task so this section includes some basic information about the languages and culture of Canada.
This section also includes important information about banking, housing, and transportation in Vancouver as well as some recommendations on places to visit and shop!
The Student Handbook is an indispensable resource for any student at Alexander College. Not only does it include information on what to expect at Alexander College, it also includes things you should know about life in Canada.
