The Burnaby Board of Trade is one of BC’s oldest and largest business associations that is still active today. The association’s members are made up of people from a wide variety of industries ranging from education to healthcare, ensuring there is a wide variety of voices representing the diverse business community.

Alexander College is proud to be a Gold Partner with the Burnaby Board of Trade. Alexander College cares deeply about and has given back to the community of the City of Burnaby—including donations totaling 2.3 million over the years, contributing to purchases for life saving medical equipment and the redevelopment phases of Burnaby Hospital.

In May of this year, Alexander College celebrated with Burnaby Hospital as they successfully raised enough money to completely fund the first phase of their multi-phase project to redevelop the hospital. Phase one, which would not only add a new six-story building with more than 80 beds, would also add state-of-the-art equipment and technology to existing buildings.

“We’re mindful that we have a responsibility as an educational community in Burnaby,” Dr. Moon says in her speech to all the partners at the event. “It’s more than just a building—a building now that many of you are seeing for the first time. It’s a hub of learning, discovery, and community involvement.

“We at Alexander College are committed to being a good neighbor, working closely with the Burnaby Board of Trade in the city, to ensure our activities that we do here at the college align with educational values and in what we’re trying to build together as a community.”
