Today we are featuring a student from Mexico, Fernando Ramirez Zermeño! He is currently studying towards an Associate of Arts degree with a concentration in Economics. This is his second semester.
When asked why he chose Vancouver as his new home while he completes his studies, the answer seemed obvious to him.
“Something just caught me about the city. I travelled here for the first time last year. I came and had the greatest summer of my life.”
As an outdoor enthusiast, Fernando loves how the mountains, beaches, and the city are conveniently located in a single place. “I didn’t know that was possible until I got here,” he says with a grin.
Aside from the great outdoors, Fernando also really enjoys having the presence of many cultures in the city. With such a diverse population, it’s really easy to have conversations with others from around the world!
In Fernando’s mind, his future career path is clear.
While he has already fulfilled his plan to start an online business by establishing his own marketing agency, he knows he will need to learn more in order to keep his business going. Obtaining an Associate of Arts degree in Economics will be the first step in achieving his goals.
Five years into the future, Fernando hopes to achieve all his personal goals – physical and spiritual.
“Chase your dreams. Don’t be afraid of doing what you like and don’t let anybody tell you what you like or really want because it’s something you need to discover yourself.”
