On Friday January 17, and Monday January 20, ACV Campus (570 Dunsmuir, Vancouver) will be closed during the demolition of an adjacent building on Dunsmuir. For Friday January 17, and Monday January 20, please check with your instructors as ACV classes may be held over Zoom. The ACV campus will re-open as usual on Tuesday January 21. The ACB Burnaby campus is unaffected and will remain open as usual during this time.
Instructors who suspect their students of cheating in assignments and exams, specifically in cases when students demonstrate higher results in final exams in comparison to previously submitted work in the course, should schedule a follow up oral assessment with their students prior to issuing an academic alert.
Students who are unable to demonstrate the ability to competently replicate their answers orally will be determined to have committed an academic misconduct infraction and instructors may file an academic alert.
Instructors may also issue an academic alert to students who fail to respond for a follow-up assessment. Should a student file an academic appeal, the instructor will be required to assist the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities by scheduling and conducting the oral assessment.
