What happens when I receive a Type II Academic Alert?

Starting from Winter 2019, Alexander College has introduced Type II Academic Alerts to give students who committed minor academic offences an opportunity to understand and learn from their errors.

Type II Academic Alerts are less serious Academic Alerts. Type II Academic Alerts are granted by the Academic Integrity Officer after careful examination of the evidence and discussion with the instructor and/or the Director of Student Affairs.

When you receive a Type II Academic Alert, you will get a grade reduction of the instructor’s choice on your assignment or exam. You will also be required to attend an Academic Integrity Workshop.

Alexander College acknowledges that the land on which we usually gather is the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Coast Salish peoples, including the territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. We are grateful to have the opportunity to work in this territory.
